Stainless Steel Bushfire Mesh protects homes and buildings in bushfire prone areas against ember attack and radiant heat.

Bushfire Mesh protects against embers penetrating into gaps and reflects radiant heat that causes fire. Embers can travel up to 40kms in front of the fire giving you less time to act and leave. Ember attack accounts for 80% of houses lost during a bushfire.

AS3959-2018 Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas
Various sections of AS3959-2018 requires a mesh to be used for screens or closing gaps greater than 3mm.

SSWM Bushfire Mesh Ember Stop range has been independently tested by CSIRO and meets the physical properties of AS3959- 2018.

Bushfire Attack Level (BAL)
SSWM Bushfire Mesh can be used to meet the requirements of AS3959-2018 for BAL 12.5 -FZ, where mesh is referenced and if the prescribed construction requirements are met.

Our range is designed so there is a mesh to suit any application, from soft to rigid and wide to narrow. The primary use of the mesh is for bushfire protection, how and where you install your mesh will determine which mesh is most appropriate.

Defendable Space & Perimeter Ember Fence
Bushire Mesh Perimeter Ember Fencing is attached to the external perimeter fence of residential homes. The perimeter ember fence will allow the fence line to become the first line of defence for the defendable space. The perimeter ember fence will catch the fire front embers blown along the ground. Bushfire Mesh is tested and shown to create valuable time against a bushfire.

Care & Maintenance
Stainless steel is a low maintenance material, but not maintenance free. Regular cleaning is recommended to prevent the build-up of contaminants such as dirt and salt. Refer to our CARE page for further information.

As SSWM Bushfire Mesh is a product, not a system. It is the requirement of the Installer to verify the strength of the security door and windows against the standards.

SSWM meets the Building Codes of Australian Regulations 158, the latest Australian Standards AS 3959 for the Construction of Buildings in Bushfire prone areas and satisfies The State Fire Authorities and Various Royal Commission Findings.
