Completed in 2022, Queensland Ballet’s redeveloped Thomas Dixon Centre in West End was designed to give visitors “behind-the-ballet” glimpses, with a large shopfront window and an interior that emphasises natural light, wellbeing and thriving greenery. SSWM supplied stainless steel green wall mesh formed into striking cylinders to support indoor climbing plants. The stainless steel is durable, low‑maintenance and architecturally appealing.

THE PROBLEM

A public-facing cultural facility that specified green wall features that had to handle frequent cleaning and daily traffic, and continue performing over the long term. The redeveloped Thomas Dixon Centre, designed to invite visitors in and provide viewing insights into the building, green wall elements needed to complement the heritage and contemporary architecture, while supporting healthy plant growth without bulky framing.

THE SSWM SOLUTION

SSWM’s stainless steel green wall mesh was used to create eye-catching cylinder greenwall planters that give climbing plants consistent support while maintaining an architectural, “light touch” appearance.
