Stainless steel is the best practice for roof safety mesh for harsh environments. It provides passive fall prevention during construction and maintenance for the life of building.
Stainless Steel is the solution to the corrosion of roof safety mesh and withstands the Australian environment for the life of the building. Galvanised products do corrode and cannot provide adequate protection. Do not take a shortcut when you know there is a safer and longer lasting alternative for your assets.
SSWM have developed PVC Coated stainless steel roof safety mesh as an effective solution for galvanic reaction between dissimilar metals.

Stainless Steel Roof Safety Mesh – benefits include:
✔ Corrosion resistant
PVC Coated Stainless Steel Roof Safety Mesh – benefits include:
✔ Prevents galvanic reaction between dissimilar metals
✔ Stainless steel wire wont rust like galvanized wire does when PVC coating is damaged or cracked
✔ AS 4312:2019 Atmospheric Corrosivity Zones in Australia
Stainless steel is used for roofing critical assets and infrastructure. It is ideal for highly corrosive environments and coastal locations. Suitable to support most insulation foils. Product specification must consider the atmospheric and internal environment.
Project: Kwinana Waster Centre to Energy
SSWM Case Study
Our Stainless Steel Roof Safety Mesh – PVC Coated, has been successfully installed in the Kwinana Waste to Energy Project. It was a challenging project with a coastal location which brings corrosion issues but also the industrial facility faces challenges of chemical exposure and galvanic reaction between the dissimilar metals.
The problem: was that traditional steel products are not inherently corrosion resistant. The project demanded a robust solution to combat corrosion and galvanic reactions.
The SSWM solution: Stainless Steel PVC Coated Roof Safety Mesh was the solution, to combat corrosion and galvanic reactions. The benefit of stainless steel PVC Coated over galvanised is that when the PVC coating on galvanised is damaged or cracked the galvanised wire will corrode below the surface of the PVC. Whereas stainless steel is inherently corrosion resistant and will not rust.

We’ve been supporting local manufacturing and infrastructure projects for over 20 years.
I started dealing with SSWM in 2019 and have always found them to be informative, trusting and dependable suppliers. Many times Sam has gone out of his way to make sure we receive the product on time and have found SSWM’s attitude professional and always wanting to help out.
Remarkable company to deal with. Order updates were excellent, and everything went as planned from the start. The team was cheerful and knowledgeable, and they had the products we needed. Supply lead times exceeded expectations. Highly recommended.
We have been dealing with SSWM for over 9 years. SSWM stock holding is always reliable and ready for us to pick up that day! We have a great strategic relationship and value the referrals that we receive from SSWM.
We are a family business and we love dealing with another family business- SSWM. Andrew Greer likes to tell me “we can dance on our feet” and it’s very true SSWM are incredibly responsive, with a great range and are very customer focused.
We recently renovated a rural property and installed Stainless Steel Bushfire Mesh. The SSWM team were a pleasure to deal with helpful and efficient. We now have a fantastic product installed and I would have no hesitations in recommending SSWM.
